Include lantana in a butterfly garden for its nectar-laden blooms, and use it in plantings that feature deer- and rabbit-resistant plants. Trailing lantana (Lantana montevidensis) opens lavender flowers with yellow throats. Aphids are small, soft-bodied insects about 1/25 to ⅛ inch long with relatively short legs and antennae.
